Becoming any type of influencer is no easy task, so I applaud anyone that can build up a good social media following and monetize their audience.
Today I want to talk about becoming a yoga influencer.
There are a lot of them out there, some are popular, brand new, and others are in the middle in terms of popularity.
No matter what your goals are, I will explain exactly how you can put your own spin on your page and grow a large following.
1. Post Consistently
I wholeheartedly believe that consistency is the most important thing when it comes to any endeavor.
Anyone can become successful as long as they’re willing to stick it out for the long run, but most people quit way too early.
Consistency is key, it’s what separates the successors from the failures.
Consistency is 4-7 days a week, anything less and you’re sabotaging your own success.
Don’t settle for anything less than the best.
If you’re serious about building a yoga influencer page, you need to commit and stick it out.
Once you’ve gotten a decent following, you can relax your posting schedule, but until them, it’s full speed ahead.
2. Be Unique
There are thousands of yoga influencers out there, so you need to stand out one way or another.
Standing out is a surefire way to build up a successful influencer yoga page, but you need to figure out what makes you unique.
Maybe you like to pose in exotic locations, on the rooftop, in nature, or on the beach.
Maybe you’re just a newbie starting out and want to share your journey.
People will follow you because they can relate, because they were their at one stage, and others will follow you to get inspired.
Whatever your yoga page is about, you need to emphasize that in your content and bio description.
3. Get Some Equipment
I don’t care what anyone says, you need a tripod for your phone if you want to make it in this business.
You won’t have everyone to take your pictures 24/7, and even so, they can’t hold the camera as still as a tripod.
Take it a step even further and invest in a good camera, although not mandatory as your phone will do the trick just fine for now.
Once you have the tripod set up, set your phone to video mode and perform some poses.
Pause and screenshot what you want to share.
If the quality isn’t that great, get an app that takes picture every 1 second.
4. Hashtags
Hashtags are a great way to bring exposure to your account to the right audience.
For example, doing yoga on the beach is more likely to get a follow when someone searches up #beachyoga more so than someone looking up #yoga.
The key is to post in tags that get between 10,000 – 100,000 posts.
Any less and you won’t get much exposure, any more and your post will get buried too quickly.
The middle ground will allow your content to be seen with the most eyes over a period of time.
Pro tip: Create your own personal brand hashtag and use it in every post. This allows people to search up your tag no matter what account they’re on and they can start using the hashtag to share their content with like-minded people. It’s kind of like building a community.
5. Follow Other Yoga Influencers
Remember that this is a business page, so you want to keep it strictly for business only.
That means following other yoga influencers and interacting with their content.
There are a few upsides to this.
Firstly, Instagram’s algorithm can quickly see what your page is about and start recommending you to people that might be interested.
Secondly, you can start building a relationship with other influencers which will lead to collaborations later on.
Some will start to share your content on their page, resulting in more likes and follows.
But you need to interact with them for you to get noticed. Start liking, commenting and sharing their content as soon as possible.
Humans love reciprocating, so they will start doing the same to your posts.
As this is all happening you will be getting new followers that love your content, but you have to stay consistent to keep the momentum going.
6. Quality Content
Quality content is a must. You never see a successful influencer that doesn’t put any effort into their content.
Their angles are spot on, lighting is good, images are high quality, and they always have a tripod taking pictures for them.
These people are always trying new things to keep their audience excited for the next post, wondering what’s coming next.
That’s how you create a successful influencer page.
I can’t stress this enough. Quality content is king and always will be.
7. Utilize All Features
Instagram has a wide range of tools to reach your audience.
- Reels
- Stories
- Feed
- Live
- IGTV
- And more
All of these are designed to get you more exposure.
Some of these will reach your current audience, some will give more insight to your personal life, while others are designed to reach people that don’t follow you yet.
Utilizing all of these tools will give you the best bang for your buck.
You’ll be sharing good content, getting personal with your current audience and gaining new ones.
Which Social Media Platform Should You Use?
You need to use Instagram and own it.
It’s one of the easiest platforms to become an influencer these days and requires less work than other socials.
You can also use TikTok, Twitter and Pinterest to siphon the traffic to your Instagram page.
Stay away from YouTube as this requires long-form content and editing skills, all of this requires extra work and energy from the main goal, which is growing your Instagram page.
How Much Can You Make as a Yoga Influencer?
This all depends, but your income is mostly determined by follower number and engagement rate.
The more followers you have, and the higher your engagement rate, the more money you will make.
It’s possible to earn anywhere from $50,000 – $100,000 per year with 25,000 – 100,000 followers.
A good rule of thumb is $1000 per year per 1000 followers.
