Beta Family claims you can make money just by reviewing new apps and providing your opinion. And while this might be true, there are a lot of things they aren’t telling you.
That’s what I wish to highlight in this Beta Family review.
The amount of time it’s going to take to make any income from this website is way too long for my liking.
You’re looking at a few months for your first $5 – $10, which is incredibly long for an online opportunity.
However, there are other things you should know, so I hope you keep reading this review for the truth.
What is Beta Family?
The official website is called betafamily.com and you can become a tester or a creator.
As a creator you will get your app reviewed for free by the testers using the website.
Although these are mostly newbies with minimal testing experience, therefore, the reviews will be subpar at best.
To get access to the experienced testers you will need to pay for a payment plan.
But that’s a different ball game.
If you landed on this article, you’re probably here for the money-making side, which means you want to earn money for testing apps.
And yes that may be true to some extent, let me explain first how it works and then how you make money.
How it Works
First when you access the website you will have to choose “sign up as a tester”.
Once you’ve signed up and completed your account, you will have to perform a bunch of FREE tests to get your score up.
Because the sad truth is, the website is saturated with testers and not a lot of app creators.
This means creators pick and choose who they want to work with.
The only way to stand out is to do a lot of free tests to get your score up, and hope you get chosen to complete a paid test.
The other downside is that there are limited tests available.
Therefore it can take months before you get your score up.
But that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Lets discuss the downsides in complete detail so you know why this website is a huge waste of time.
The Downsides to Beta Family
You Have to Work for Free
As mentioned above, you will be required to do a large amount of free tests to get your score up.
And because tests are limited (due to so many people applying for them), it can take months to get a good enough score so that you’re chosen for the paid tests.
This means coming into the app every single day to see if there are new tests available, because they don’t notify you.
Of course all of this extra work is unpaid and no guarantee of earning money in the future.
A Free Test Doesn’t Automatically Put Your Score Up
If that wasn’t enough work as it is, completing all these tests for free doesn’t automatically mean you’re going to get a good score.
App creators will give you a rating for your opinion/review on their app, and half the time they don’t even give you a rating.
This means doing for work for free and giving creators free opinions, while they benefit from your test, you earn nothing.
Takes Way too Long to Receive Credit
Once you’ve been doing free tests for months and finally chosen for a paid test, it can take around 30 – 60 days for the money to show in your account!
Sometimes even longer.
Sometimes people aren’t being paid at all.
Months of work and time completely wasted.
High Minimum Payout
Furthermore, minimum payout is $50 which is extremely high compared to similar websites.
This also raises a huge red flag.
A high minimum payout is always done on purpose so that people lose patience and quit before they can get their money.
Therefore they don’t have to payout their customers and can keep all the profits for themselves.
This doesn’t 100% mean it’s a scam, but they are 100% shady in doing so.
Lets Crunch the Numbers
Even if you do “everything right”, come back to the website everyday, perform all the free tests when they became available, and stick it out for at least 60 days, then you might become qualified for a paid test.
Of course I’m being generous here, as it’s most likely going to take longer.
Keep in mind that qualified doesn’t mean guaranteed.
It just means you’re in the spotlight to be chosen for a paid test.
Now even if you complete a paid test, it can take 30 – 60 days for the money to show in your account.
So if you manage to get accepted for a paid test once a month, it’s going to take about 11 months to reach the minimum payout of $50, since most tests pay around $5 – $10 each.
So How Much Money Can You Earn With Beta Family?
You’ll earn around $50 after about 8 – 12 months of work, taking into consideration that you’re doing everything right.
Then hoping you get accepted at least once a month for a paid test (since competition is fierce).
Is Beta Family Legit or a Scam?
Even if this website might be legit, there are many shady tactics going on that disintegrate the legitimacy and morals.
In my opinion they are legit for the most part, but they don’t care about paying people their money if they don’t have to.
If they really cared about paying people for their time and effort, they would make the minimum payout $5 so that everyone can get their money as soon they can.
They wouldn’t make people stick it out for a year just to reach minimum payout.
So yes, Beta Family might be legit, but the amount of time it takes to get any money isn’t worth it.
Verdict: Legit, but complete waste of time for the amount of work you have to put in
Why Beta Family is a Huge Waste of Time
I said in the beginning that this website is a waste of time because there are far better ways to earn money for your efforts.
Even if you do everything right, you won’t receive the money in your account until after 8 – 12 months.
8 – 12 months for a measly $50? You’ll hardly notice it in your bank account.
This is exactly why 99% of these systems are complete trash.
I would rather you spend that extra 30 – 60 minutes per day working on something that’s actually going to pay off in the long run.
