I’m an avid Instagram user and found this guy called Bashar J. Katou who claims to have all the answers to your financial troubles.
This is a big problem because anyone that claims to have all the answers usually has a lot to hide and knows they’re not being 100% honest.
Personally, I tell people that I have a system that makes me 4-figures per month and if they’re interested they can check it out for themselves.
This is the complete opposite of what Bashar J. Katou does.
He apparently claims that he’s not “one of those gurus” that shows off lambos, big houses, and the luxury lifestyle.
But contradicts himself by doing the exact same thing.
It’s hard to trust people that make big promises like changing your life.
So I set out to see who this man is, what BJK is really all about, and if it’s a scam or not.
Who is Bashar J. Katou?
Bashar is an Iraqi-born man that has settled in America.
He has accumulated millions of followers combined throughout all his social platforms.
I found him on Instagram and couldn’t help but see his face everywhere.
He allegedly makes 7-figures per year from doing Amazon FBA, which in a nutshell, is buying products for low and selling high.
Before we move forward let me tell you that this is a very risky business model.
With 1/3 of people saying that they lose money when they try FBA.
So what’s the secret that Bashar has that makes his system better than anyone else?
Lets take a look.
What do You Get?
You will gain access to a training plan, an active community of like-minded people, coaches that can answer your questions, and more.
The Training
The training will teach you how to find viable products online that you can sell on Amazon for a better price.
BJK University will teach you how to spend less time researching and more time getting your products out there and on the first page of Amazon.
In comparison, 99.9% of all sales made are from the first page of Amazon, so it makes sense to get your products as close to the top as possible.
However, they’ll teach you how to automate the whole process so you don’t have to lift a single finger and still make thousands of dollars per month.
If you’re skeptical you should be, as it sounds too good to be true from the jump.
Bashar definitely does earn 7-figures selling Amazon products, as he’s found a winning formula that he sticks to.
What’s The Secret Formula?
Bashar claims that it’s better to launch many different products to see what’s giving you the most profits.
This is called A/B testing.
The motto is more products = better odds = more stability = better scalability.
To be honest this does make a lot of sense.
This is the same as FB advertising, creating lots of different ads until you find a winning product.
But BJK University doesn’t want you to rely on one winning product, they would rather you earn a couple of grand each – per month – from many different products.
That way if one or more products gets pushed down the rankings, you’re still make money from your other products.
It’s all about spreading out your risk and not putting all your eggs in one basket.
Does the Training Work and Can You Make Money?
I have no doubts that the training works and you can make money.
I believe that you can definitely use BJK University to build a sustainable Amazon FBA business, but the success rate is far too low for my liking.
I can almost guarantee that at least 90% of people that buy this system don’t make money.
Is it the systems fault, or the peoples fault?
It’s both.
A successful system will make most people at least some money and even their money back.
Regarding the legitimacy, yes it’s a legit system and if you work hard, you can build a successful online business.
However, the price is way too high and the training can be hard to follow. Here’s some more negatives that I found.
The Negatives
The Coaching Sucks
Unfortunately the coaching they provide absolutely sucks.
All your questions don’t get answered in detail, just bland, generic statements that don’t help in anyway possible.
So you’re left trying to get help from the community, who are mostly newbies and don’t know much better.
This is why I wholeheartedly believe that most people won’t make any money.
The business model has a low success rate as it is, and if you’re a newbie, that success rate is going to be even lower.
Too Much Focus On Being a Life Coach than Making Money
The coaches are more focused on trying to sort your life out rather than helping you make money.
Their excuse is that you need to have the right mindset in order to be successful in any business.
But that’s not what people signed up for.
Buyers were told they would be given a training plan that would make them money through Amazon FBA, they didn’t sign up for a therapist.
The Positive Reviews Reek of Being Fake
All of the reviews I can find online seem really fake in my opinion.
On Trustpilot the 5-star reviews are exactly the same just worded differently, which leads me to believe that it’s all the same person.
And even if they’re not fake, there’s no one saying that they’re making any money with BJK University, just statements about how it’s a good training program with a helpful community.
If people were really making money, they would be all over forums telling people how much it changed their life and all the money they’ve made.
But there’s none of that.
Way Too Pricey
When you take into consideration the generic training and bland coaching advice, it just doesn’t seem worth it to me.
They are trying to be your life coach rather than teach you how to make money.
There are systems out there for $47 per month, some with a free trial, that earn faster with less effort.
But $3800 just to get your foot in the door? With something that’s not guaranteed?
That just doesn’t fly with me.
I’ve been doing internet marketing for 5 years and there are hundreds of better opportunities for a much cheaper price tag.
The Positives
Decent Training and Proven Formula
Regardless of the high price tag, there is still the fact that the methods Bashar J. Katou teaches are proven to work as that’s how he built his 7-figure empire.
As long as you go all in and you are fully dedicated to the program, it’s possible to make money.
That doesn’t mean guaranteed money, there’s still massive risk involved.
So Is BJK University a Scam or Real Opportunity?
Fortunately after doing well-needed research on this program, I’m glad to say that the training is real and big money can be made as long as you’re dedicated to the program.
However, there is a MASSIVE downside.
That is that most people won’t have the time nor money to take it further than going through the basic training.
You will be required to purchase many products beforehand so that they’re ready to be shipped once the products are sold.
This can be another hefty investment, resulting in another couple thousand dollars out of your pocket with no guarantee of making any money back.
Studies show that only 30% of people that try FBA make money.
This is risky business model that I don’t recommend for any newbie to try.
What Can You Do Instead?
I like blogging because you don’t need an inventory, no customer service, there’s no risk (other than a small monthly fee), and you get out what you put in.
If you write 50 articles, you’re pretty much guaranteed money from placing ads on your blog.
You only invest your time and energy.
Where as Amazon FBA requires time, more energy, a hefty investment (most peoples savings), too many products, and tight margins so you actually make a profit.
All in all it’s just a downright bad investment that can be a huge waste of time and money in the end.
Verdict: Legit but not recommended (Very High-Risk)
Very Helpful post.. Thanks..
You’re welcome Kazema. Let me know if you need anymore information.
Do you have any recommendations?
I’ve got Wealthy Affiliate which has a free trial and 10 free training videos to get you started. That’s really the only thing that has worked for me after 7 years of doing internet marketing. Of course other stuff would work, but nothing would really “take off” like blogging did, which is what you’ll be trained on in that link.
Thanks for this review. It’s really helpful for me to assess whether the IG posts are the truth.
Hey Liz, no worries. Happy to help you out 🙂
Thanks this was helpful
No problem mate, glad you found what you were looking for.
I can’t find where to comment so I’m replying to this, I just had a call with them to see what they were about. They make it sound so odd as they start by saying we are action takers for half an hour and really hype you up. Then at the end are asking for over 3k and then saying more will he needed. I’ve already said I’m 18. Phone went straight down
Hahaha, just trying to rope you into a pipe dream aren’t they?
Wow, this was pretty spot on. I like to pride myself a little in being perceptive and a good listener and reader. I discovered BJK on IG, because like you said, he’s everywhere. So I really like his ads and how he delivered his message. But the more I saw the more I focused on his words, the more I did my own research and the more I discovered. So to add on to this blog about BJK, he mentioned himself in one of his videos that he uses Helium 10 (which is a program that allows an Amazon seller to see what most people are searching for on a given day). I’ve looked it up and it does cost like everything for the premium. Now he also mentioned “a technology used to spy on other sellers”, like what TF does that mean? And is that the same Helium 10 that he uses? Idk but once I legit heard him say that I was like yeah no thanks dude. I’ll just be my own mentor and learn as I go. I do wanna hit 7 figures one day but if it takes me a few years then so be it. I’m not in the lifestyle of taking food off someone’s table just so I can eat. That’s just lazy and a greedy beiotch! I’m already registered anyways as an amazon seller. I just need the capitol to by from alibaba to start selling on amazon. There probably is a better way, but I’m looking into a business loan to get me started.
I wouldn’t say that he’s taking food off someone’s table so he can eat, but I get what you’re saying. At least it’s a legit system that can earn you a lot of money. But most people don’t have the time nor money to go all in with the training. They also make it sound super easy when really it’s not. Statistically speaking, expect to work on your business for at least one year before seeing any meaningful results.
So well said Brian, The same words the same thoughts. I am a self learner.
Good for you mate. Good luck!
Thank you for the review. I saw Bashar’s IG has a lot of followers, and his posts seem interesting. I actually have a call with one of the staff at BJK University and now it costs $4800 to join. The guy on the phone sounds really like a life coach (setting high goals with me, asking me what I want to achieve in my life), and I really suspect whether they are legit. I’m really glad to find your article so I won’t fall for that LOL
I mean yes, it is definitely overpriced for the average Joe Bloggs. But as long as you know what you’re getting yourself into and don’t except instant results, you can switch your mindset from “getting rich quickly”, to “building a long-term sustainable business”. Hope this helps.
I would watch his videos quite often on IG and wanted to take up the course but your review gave an insight of the whole thing and It helped a lot in decision making.
Thanks a ton !!
You’re very welcome Karishma.
What is an alternate to FBA course on BKJ university / Because I’m interested in online selling as I know it is profitable business
Hey Faisal, you’ll find that all Amazon FBA courses have high prices on them. And most of them suck or don’t live up to the claims. Fortunately BJK University is one of the better ones out there that I recommend. That way you know it’s safe and you’re not going to get scammed. Otherwise if you still want to jump into the online selling world but don’t want to pay an arm and a leg, you can check out my #1 recommendation. It’s free to join, or you can upgrade to $47 per month. What you’ll be doing is affiliate marketing, which is completely different to Amazon FBA, but it’s what I do and that’s why I recommend it.
Thank you for posting this review.
All good mate. Happy to help
The way he talks makes it sound like a very easy thing to do and with guaranteed return. And, in fact, it is not. Thank you so much for share all this information.
I agree with you there Ana. Unfortunately that’s what most salesman do to make sales.
Thank you I needed this input. Sounds too good to be true really. I’m glad I’m doing enough prudence and caution to land on ur article. I was heavily contemplating on this bjk sweet words really. I’m so glad I beat my impulse. Thank u again. It’s time to do business my own way.
You’re welcome Jan. Here to help people make more informed decisions. Thanks for stopping by!
What would you recommend for someone who already bought the course for 3800 dollars?
Are you saying you bought the course for $3800 but didn’t have any success with it?
Actually apply yourself and get the results? It’s too late for a refund
Definitely a good point there. You can’t expect money to magically appear into your account just because you bought the course. Like I said, you can make money but be prepared to put in the work.
So are you saying that you actually went through the program? You invested in the coaching, the product purchases, etc.?
Me buying the product and getting coached has absolutely nothing to do with the facts, which is what I’ve outlined in this article.
It’s funny when you people come in with the argument that I need to buy a program to talk about it and review it.
The fact of the matter is, most people will have to spend thousands of dollars to buy the program and another couple thousand dollars buying product. This is not ideal for most newbies trying to get into online marketing.
I was about to jump into taking BJK program when I thought of doing a search first in the internet about Bashar last minute before pressing the submit button. Thank you for this article! It helps me to think about it further especially that I am a newbie who is looking for side hustle:)
Hey Lileth, glad you done your research to see what you’re really getting yourself into. I know how much help I wanted back in the day before making money online became “popular and trendy”. Back when I first started, making money online was barely heard of and I had to join scam after scam before finding something that works.
Glad I could help another newbie out 🙂
Thank you for this article, i was looking into Amazon FBA I’ve seen bashar everywhere on YouTube IG you name it. I’m 18 looking into buying a side hustle any tips thank you
Sure thing, there are many things to do on the internet as a side hustle but I recommend starting a blog and monetizing your blog with affiliate marketing.
Check out this training (has a free trial).
Brandon –
Stumbled upon your review amongst a host of others. Still listening to the Bashar’s video but not sold.
Thank you for the no-nonsense approach to breaking down what it is he does and provides, and hell the money paid his last seven investment and more of a risk.
I have no doubt it works for some, but not for most and that’s bad for the average individual.
Your review is the best use of my time this morning.
Thanks again, and much continued success to you.
Ron
You’re welcome man, just glad to get the truth out there and stop other people wasting their time and money on something incredibly unattainable for most. Hope you find something though. Good luck!
Thanks Brandon. do you by chance have a list of Websites like Wealthy Affiliate and a list of Blogging Websites? I’m not a Legal Adult yet in my country but will be one very soon and I don’t have a source of income or a personal Device (Yet) but I want to start Blogging as it seems interesting but some if not most websites are blocked on my Borrowed School Device. And at first I was going to see what it was like then I decided not to before your review and decided to find reviews and yours was the only one I’ve looked at so far then decided “I’m not a legal adult yet I can be impatient when it comes to having to be 18 for basically Everything so I’d rather find a way to start something I enjoy until then” Again Thank you
Hey Jordyn, you don’t have to be 18 to start a blog, you can get started at any age. Thankfully with Wealthy Affiliate they will teach you how to start from scratch and you don’t need to pay anything just yet. You can set up your blog, add some content, and then decide to pay later on if you want.
I have Bashar as a competitor of one of my amazon product. I have discovered him by googling my competitor’s company name. So sad to see how he market himself as a Pro Amazon seller, that’s a pure scam. I can tell you that his products listings are not professional at all and he does not makes a lot of money. Products are bad quality, he is using fake reviewers which is also not compliant with Amazon sellers terms and conditions. People stay away!!! You can learn all by yourself for free with Helium 10 course or on Youtube. For those who still believe he is legit, please check his trustpilot reviews, 95% are fake and can be spot easily. How this guy can look at himself in the mirror, scamming people, telling lies and make them think is easy money… That’s not true.
Damn, that’s not good, but I’m not surprised. It’s not hard to buy cheap items and sell for 5 – 10x the original price.
Also it’s funny that you brought that up the Trustpilot reviews, as I said in my article that they reek of being fake and look like they’re from the exact same person.
I just checked out the BJK University Trustpilot page again and now they have a warning sign, saying the reviews have been detected as fake.
Thanks for the insight, much appreciated.
