McMoney Review – An Easy $5/Month or Scam?

McMoney is an app that you can download for your mobile device and get paid for every text message sent to your phone.

Although that sounds like a great way to make free money, it’s possibly one of the worst make money apps out there.

You’re looking at $5 – $10 per year for receiving a text message here and there.

But for those that think this is going to make you rich, you should keep reading this review to see what you’re really getting yourself into.

I am no stranger to make money online apps and programs, because I research these types of companies for a living and expose them for what they really are.

And most of the time they are scams or just a huge waste of time.

McMoney is one of those apps that should not be used by anyone and I’ll explain why in this review.

Enjoy.

What is McMoney? An App That Pays You Free Money

What is McMoney

McMoney is currently unavailable on public app stores like Google Play, so you will have to download the APK manually from their official website.

But basically, McMoney is an app where you can make money just by receiving messages “once in a while”.

Once in a while being the keywords, as in, a couple of times per week.

Unfortunately this is not enough to make any meaningful income as most texts you receive earn you around $0.02 to $0.06 each.

The website says that you can earn around $5 per month of completely passive income, but everyone I’ve seen says that they earn $5 – $10 per year.

So either McMoney aren’t entirely telling the truth, or these people reporting low earnings are from low earning countries.

As McMoney pays you based on how many texts they send and which country you’re from.

How Does McMoney Make Money?

You’re probably wondering why they want to pay you money for sending out random text messages.

Well simply put, it’s for market research and telecommunications.

McMoney is an application used by researchers to test the reach of marketing campaigns.

They then sell this information to third-party companies and that’s how they make their money.

You, the user, receives a small cut of this for every text message sent out.

How Do You Join?

When I say all you need to do is download the app, verify your phone number, and make money, I mean it.

It’s a really simple way of making passive income.

But of course, easy doesn’t mean worth it.

It’s incredibly low income potential and should not be expected to earn you a good amount of money.

In fact I think it’s a garbage app that should never be used.

$5 – $10 per year is not something to boast about.

However, if that money was earned per month, that would be a different story and this review would be a lot more positive about this make money app.

But if you still want to give it a go, you can go to their official web page, click the download button and follow the instructions.

How Much Money Can You Really Earn?

So they say that you’ll earn around $5 per month but I think this is definitely exaggerated to get more downloads.

Every review I see says that they earn that per year.

The good news is that it’s completely passive once it’s set up, so you just have to put up with a couple of random messages every week.

The messages are just a random string of characters.

You do not need to reply to verify you got the text message, simply delete it and move on, as you will receive the money anyway.

The Referral Program

Some programs have awesome referral programs and some are downright trash.

Unfortunately the referral program at McMoney falls in this category, completely and utterly trash.

Getting referrals is hard enough as it is, so you should be rewarded handsomely for your efforts.

The referral system pays you around $0.10 to $0.25 for every person that uses your code when they download the app.

This is a fine example of a bad referral program.

In comparison, a GOOD referral program will pay you a small percentage of what your downline earns, or more specifically, around 10 – 25%.

That way you’re earning more money in the long run from your downline staying active.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Free to join and download
  • Easy to get started
  • Low minimum payout ($1)

Cons

  • Extremely low income potential
  • Takes way too long to cash out
  • Bad customer service
  • Questionable legitimacy (more on that below)

Is the McMoney App Legit or a Scam?

Yes, McMoney is actually a legit app that pays its members for receiving text messages to their phone.

Although that’s what it was once known as.

Lately there’s been some reports of the website being hacked, or at the very least, a change of ownership.

Some people report their earnings not getting paid, and having bad experiences with customer service.

All of these are red flags that question the legitimacy of the app.

Even though it might’ve been legit in the past and have a long line or successful payments, I cannot say with 100% confidence that it’s not a scam.

I say proceed with caution.

Or don’t proceed at all (recommended).

Verdict: Questionable legitimacy, extremely low earning potential

You Should Not Join McMoney In My Opinion

Even though McMoney is an app with a proven track record, lately they have been on the downward trend.

Here’s a quick snapshot of McMoney on Google Trends for the last 5 years.

Here's a quick snapshot of McMoney in Google Trends.

Still pretty consistent, but I think it’ll continue dying down.

It’s just the nature of the game. If they’re not spending lots of money on advertising and it’s not getting the word of mouth advertising, it’ll eventually die out.

And it definitely won’t get the word of mouth social proof with such a bad income potential.

Not to mention that I can’t stand behind an app that pays $5 per year, even if it is completely passive income.

Personally I don’t think it’s worth anyone’s time.

You should invest your time and energy in something that’s worth it and going to pay off in the long run.

What’s The McMoney Alternative?

So the reason why I know what works and what doesn’t is because I’ve done it all.

Well, most things, especially scams.

I’ve joined them, fallen for the traps, got burned many times, and now I expose systems for what they really are.

McMoney is an app that makes the creators richer at the expense of the little guy.

This is what happens with all make money online apps, programs, “opportunities”, etc.

After years of trial and error, I discovered that the best way to make money online is to create my own online business.

That way I’m not burdened by a specific program or website that can be taken down at any moment.

Now I create my own blogs/websites, write content that ranks in the search engines, and make money.

It’s my own business so it literally cannot be taken away from me.

And that’s how I think everyone should approach the “make money online world” from now on.

You also need the right training, tools and support.

I recommend Wealthy Affiliate as it’s the same program that taught me everything I know about building a REAL online business.

Thanks for reading my McMoney review and have a great day.

My name is Brandon and this is my website. I'm just a normal guy that had dreams, dreams that would keep me up at night because I wanted them so badly. Now I'm living my dreams of being an influencer and making a good living doing so. Broke Influencers is another of my creations where I teach people how to get rich being an online influencer, or die trying. There is no in between.
